Support From Cerner Funds Monetary Awards for ANCC Magnet and Pathway Awards

Illustrating the power of a “Magnet,” more than 10,000 nurses and other health care stakeholders are being drawn to Orlando, FL, to immerse themselves in a wide range of educational and innovative sessions, celebratory events, and networking opportunities at the 2019 ANCC National Magnet Conference®, which runs from Oct. 10-12. At the high-energy conference opening, attendees already were treated to performances by Opera Orlando, gained insights from opening speaker Gretchen Rubin on understanding personality tendencies to create better work environments, and learned firsthand about the 2020 “Year of the Nurse.”

The American Nurses Association (ANA) Board of Directors appointed leaders to serve on the 10-member board of directors for the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). All terms of office begin on January 1, 2020.
Many nurses attending the ANA and ANCC conferences started their day on April 26 with a pitch – actually five pitches – from nurse innovators competing for monetary prizes at ANA’s live, interactive version of the TV show, “Shark Tank.”
When describing what makes a good leader and excellent – or “platinum” service, opening keynote speaker on April 25, Simon T. Bailey, talked about things like finding one’s spark and purpose at work, and creating an environment of love, kindness and connectedness.

Rebecca Graystone, MS, MBA, RN, NE-BC, will serve as the new vice president of the Magnet Recognition® and Pathway to Excellence® Program.
The American Nurses Association’s Board of Directors has announced the appointment of three directors to the American Nurses Credentialing Center Board. They will serve from January 1, 2019 to December 31, 2020.
ANCC presented the 2018 National Magnet Nurse of the Year® Awards and the five winners were recognized at the ANCC National Magnet Conference® in Denver, Colorado. The award recognizes the outstanding contributions of clinical nurses to innovation, consultation, leadership, and professional risk-taking.
The American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) today presented Professor Sheila D. Tlou, PhD, RN, FAAN, with the prestigious HRH Princess Muna Al Hussein Award for her more than 30 years of impassioned advocacy for nursing and healthcare across the globe. The award was given at the ANCC National Magnet Conference® in Denver.
