Joan M. Stanley

PhD, NP, FAAN, FAANP

Joan M. Stanley, PhD, NP, FAAN, FAANP, is AACN’s Chief Academic Officer who will provide general oversight and Essentials subject matter expertise to this project. Dr. Stanley has earned national recognition for her work in shaping nursing education programs at the baccalaureate through doctoral levels. She led the development and revision of AACN's landmark Essentials series, which are used to ensure quality in academic nursing programs. Dr. Stanley has led AACN's work on many signature initiatives, including the development of the Clinical Nurse Leader role, the advancement of the DNP degree, and the creation and implementation of the Consensus Model for APRN Regulation: Licensure, Accreditation, Certification and Education.

Katie Fioravanti

PhD, MSN

Katie Fioravanti, PhD, MSN, is AACN’s Foundation Director who will work closely on post-award management throughout the grant period. Dr. Fioravanti oversees all Foundation for Academic Nursing initiatives at AACN. Having formerly served as the Vice President for the Foundation Management Group in Washington, DC, she possesses a diverse background in grants management, nursing education, and public health. At Georgetown University, she was Associate Dean of Academic Affairs in the School of Nursing and Health Studies and Assistant Professor in the Department of International Health. Dr. Fioravanti has a background in global health and taught public health nursing for many years.

Susan Corbridge

PhD, APRN, FAANP, FCCP, FAAN

Susan Corbridge, PhD, APRN, FAANP, FCCP, FAAN, is AACN’s interim Essentials Implementation Director who will work directly with nursing schools participating in this project to facilitate the transition to a competency-based approach to nursing education. She is Clinical Professor Emerita within the Department of Behavioral Nursing Science at the University of Illinois Chicago, where she formerly served as the Executive Associate Dean in the College of Nursing. Dr. Corbridge is a board-certified Acute Care Nurse Practitioner and maintains a clinical practice in the Department of Medicine, Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, Sleep & Allergy Medicine.

Robert Rosseter

MBA, MS

Robert Rosseter, MBA, MS, is AACN’s Chief Communications Officer who will oversee the project’s strategic approach on communications and marketing. He directs all public affairs, communication, and marketing functions for AACN and oversees several program areas, including student services, publications, corporate partnerships, and other special projects.
