Tim Porter-O’Grady National Leadership Award

American Nurses Foundation's Tim Porter-O'Grady National Leadership Award is awarded in honor of the former chair of the Foundation Board of Trustees, Tim Porter-O'Grady, DM, EdD, ScD(h), APRN, FAAN, FACCWS. This award honors his impact on the nursing profession through his leadership and being an agent of change.

As the heart and backbone of healthcare, nurses' expertise enhances health and healthcare delivery; Yet nurses themselves are not present in sufficient numbers in leadership positions.

The Tim Porter-O'Grady National Leadership Award was presented to a mid-career nurse leader through a competitive application process. The awardee received $10,000 to fund their participation in a leadership development program selected by the awardee.

We look for exemplary nurses who within their work consistently demonstrate leadership, creativity, inspiration, boldness as strategic risk-takers, and a willingness to champion new and innovative ideas to be an agent of change within their organizations and the wider healthcare landscape. Our awardee bring energy and create solutions. See our past awardees below:
