Spring 2018 Nurse Survey

In May 2018, the American Nurses Foundation and its Corporate Advisory Board created a survey to identify key issues facing today’s RNs and areas in which the healthcare product and services industry and nurses can work better together. Responding to a wide range of multiple choice and open-ended questions, a total of 1,225 nurses participated. Respondents shared their thoughts on areas such as the state of the profession; violence in the workplace; alternative career pathways; opportunities in which they can feel empowered and impactful; and their interactions with vendors and industry representatives.

Upon reflecting on the survey exercise, Tim Porter-O’Grady, DM, EdD, APRN, FAAN, FACCWS, chair of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees said, “It’s in all of our best interests to identify and understand current and future trends in nursing and healthcare. As businesses build new product offerings and opportunities for nurses, engagement and collaboration with nurses is foundational to their success.”

The results from the survey will help shape Corporate Advisory Board members’ engagement with nurses and the entire profession.
