2025 Code of Ethics for Nurses Revision Panel
Welcome to the 2025 Code of Ethics Revision Panel, a critical initiative driven by the American Nurses Association's unwavering commitment to "establish and maintain a code of ethics among nurses." As mandated by our Certificate of Incorporation, we are dedicated to revising the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements every ten years.
Our primary objective is clear: to foster a collaborative environment where we can address ethical challenges pertinent to the nursing profession. By sharing insights on ethical issues, priorities, and goals, our aim is to develop a robust and forward-thinking Code of Ethics for Nurses. This revised code promises not only to strengthen our ethical foundations but also to inspire ethical action in nurses across the spectrum.
Building upon the existing Code of Ethics for Nurses, our Revision Panel will delve into the core values and ideals of our profession. We will actively identify and confront ethical dilemmas that impact the health and well-being of the populations we serve, including individual nurses and the nursing profession at large.
This revision effort will form the bedrock for a comprehensive array of resources spanning ethics, policy, and education. It will be the cornerstone upon which we build a brighter ethical future for nursing. We invite you to join us on this journey as we shape the foundation of nursing ethics for 2025 and beyond. Together, we will continue to uphold the highest standards of ethical conduct in the noble profession of nursing.
