On April 22, 2026, ANA convened nursing leaders and experts from practice, education, research, regulation, industry, and policy for the inaugural ANA AI in Nursing Practice Think Tank.
Designed as a working consensus convening, the Think Tank examined how AI is already affecting nursing, identified the most significant risks facing the profession, and established shared principles for the responsible use of AI in healthcare.
The resulting report, Artificial Intelligence in Nursing Practice: Consensus Findings from the ANA AI in Nursing Practice Think Tank, provides a foundation for nurse-led action.
Across the American Nurses Enterprise, we are addressing artificial intelligence on multiple fronts, from establishing ethical standards and recognizing excellence in practice to investing in nurse-led innovation. Together, these efforts are helping ensure nurses shape how AI is developed, evaluated, and used throughout healthcare.
