2025 National Nurses Week Shines Bright: A Record-Breaking Celebration of The Power of Nurses
SILVER SPRING, MD – This year’s National Nurses Week (NNW) reached unprecedented heights in honoring nurses across the country, lighting up both skylines and social media feeds with gratitude. The 2025 campaign achieved nationwide visibility with the theme #ThePowerOfNurses, illuminating 205 landmarks and activating communities online and in person.
A Landmark Moment in Honor of Nursing
With a bold goal to light up national landmarks, the campaign partnered with communities in all 50 states, Guam, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico. Iconic sites including Skydance Bridge (OK), Myrtle Beach SkyWheel (SC), Niagara Falls (NY) and Murray Baker Bridge (IL) glowed red in tribute to the tireless contributions of nurses. This symbolic gesture brought local and national attention to the critical work nurses do every day.
“National Nurses Week is more than a celebration. It is a moment to recognize the extraordinary dedication, compassion, and expertise of nurses who are the backbone of our health care system,” said Jennifer Mensik Kennedy, PhD, MBA, RN, NEA-BC, FAAN, President of the American Nurses Association. “This year’s record-breaking campaign reflects the gratitude of communities nationwide and shines a light on the essential role nurses play in advancing health for all.”
