American Nurses Foundation Celebrates Landmark Research Project Success on Certified Nurses Day

SILVER SPRING, MD – March 19, 2026 – Today on Certified Nurses Day, the American Nurses Foundation (ANF) is proud to announce that one of the grant recipients of the Margretta Madden Styles Credentialing Research Grant, Olga Yakusheva, PhD, MSE, FAAN, has successfully completed her research examining the crucial link between nurse certification and the tangible benefit for both patient care and health systems. The emerging findings are promising and have only been exclusively shared during private poster sessions at select universities, such as the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing and the University of Michigan School of Nursing. ANF awarded a total of $223,864 to Dr. Yakusheva to complete this study.

In support of National Nurses Week 2024, the American Nurses Foundation (the Foundation) is teaming up with Chipotle, Skechers, and Create Amor to bring exclusive deals and opportunities that give back to nurses for the month of May. All proceeds raised through their support will go directly to the Foundation’s work to undertake vital research, support nurses, and improve health care for all.

Racial reckoning, nurse staffing, workplace violence and climate change are top issues at ANA Membership Assembly

The ANA Membership Assembly, the governing and official voting body of the American Nurses Association (ANA) took historic action today to begin a journey of racial reckoning by unanimously voting yes to adopt a racial reckoning statement. In addition, Assembly representatives acted on several critical issues including nurse staffing, workplace violence (WPV), and climate change. More than 300 nurses, observers, and other leaders attended the two-day governance meeting in Washington, DC. Eligible representatives also elected national leaders.

American Nurses Foundation and CALNOC Establish $2.5 Million Research Fund

The American Nurses Foundation (the Foundation) and the Collaborative Alliance for Nursing Outcomes (CALNOC), the nation’s first database of nurse sensitive measures and a pioneer in health services research, are pleased to announce the establishment of the $2.5 million CALNOC Research Fund (The Fund).
