American Nurses Enterprise Cookie Notice

Effective Date: March 6, 2026

The American Nurses Association ("ANA"), the American Nurses Credentialing Center ("ANCC"), the American Nurses Foundation ("Foundation"), and their affiliates and subsidiaries, are dedicated to safeguarding your privacy. Throughout this notice, these organizations are collectively called "American Nurses Enterprise," "ANE," "we," "us," and "our".

This Cookie Notice explains how we use Cookies and similar tracking tools (including pixels, web beacons, Software Development Kits (SDKs), and embedded scripts) (collectively referred to as "Cookies") on our websites. By visiting or using an ANE website, you agree to the practices described here, as well as those detailed in our Privacy Notice.

You can adjust your Cookie preferences at any time by selecting the "My Privacy Choices" link located in the footer of our websites.

What are Cookies?

Cookies collect data from your browser or device, including computers, tablets, and smartphones. They are commonly employed to enhance website efficiency, remember user preferences, analyze website usage, enable specific functionalities, and deliver personalized content or advertisements.

Types of Cookies We Use

Cookies are typically sorted according to their purpose. On our websites, we use various categories of Cookies:

Name Description/Examples
Essential Cookies These Cookies are required for the core functionality of our websites and to deliver the services you request. For example, they enable secure login, maintain session integrity, and support website security. These Cookies cannot be turned off as that would cause core parts of our websites to lose functionality and the ability to deliver the services you request.
Functional Cookies These Cookies let our websites remember your preferences and choices, such as your language settings, and provide enhanced, personalized features to improve usability. If you turn off these Cookies, these services may lose functionality.
Performance Cookies These Cookies let our websites collect data about how visitors interact with our websites, such as which pages are visited most frequently. This data helps us improve our website’s functionality, performance, and user experience.
Marketing Cookies These Cookies let our website deliver ads tailored to your interests, limit the number of times you see an ad, and help measure the effectiveness of ad campaigns. If you turn off these Cookies, the ads you see may not be tailored to your interests.

Cookies may also be classified according to their duration (Persistent, Session) on your device and the entity responsible (First-Party, Third-Party) for placing them:

Name Description/Examples
Persistent Cookies These Cookies remain on your device until they are deleted manually or automatically after a set duration.
Session Cookies These Cookies remain on your device only during your browsing session and are deleted when you close your browser.
First-Party Cookies Cookies placed directly by ANE on your device when you visit our websites.
Third-Party Cookies Cookies placed by third parties that provide services or features on our websites, such as analytics providers or advertisers.

Online Privacy Choices

ANE and its partners may use different Cookies for different purposes. You may update your Cookie preferences at any time by selecting "My Privacy Choices" located at the footer of every page. The popup banner that appears will provide more information on how to set your Cookie preferences. Note any changes made to a specific domain will not transfer across ANE’s other domains. Please note that any updates to your Cookie preferences will only apply to the specific ANE domain you’re visiting and you may need to update your Cookie preferences on other ANE domains.

This includes an option to decline participation in online activities (third-party Cookies) that could be considered "sharing" or "selling" of Personal Data pursuant to applicable laws.

Targeted Advertising

In accordance with applicable U.S. state regulations, you may have the right to opt out of the use of your Personal Data for targeted advertising purposes. See the Online Privacy Choices section for more information on how to opt-out.

Global Privacy Control (GPC)

Some browsers have a GPC you can set to tell a website not to sell or share your data (see globalprivacycontrol.org for more information). If your browser sends a GPC signal, we will honor it in accordance with applicable laws. However, we do not respond to Do Not Track Signals.

Analytics and Third-Party Tools

We use third-party analytics services, such as Google Analytics, to help us understand how visitors interact with our websites. These services may use Cookies and similar technologies to collect and analyze data about your use of our websites and other websites. See the Online Privacy Choices section for more information on how to opt-out.

Browser Updates

Most browsers give users the option to delete, disable, or block Cookies via the browser settings. Please be aware that removing or disabling Cookies may impact your experience on our websites. For example, if you delete your Cookies, you will need to reset your Cookie preferences.
