Withdrawal of Applications for Initial Certification or Renewal of Certification

Policy

ANCC policy allows candidates to withdraw an application for initial certification or certification renewal. 

Inital Certification Applications

An applicant or candidate may withdraw their application for initial certification. The ANCC must receive a written request to withdraw the application before the candidate has taken the examination and before the end of the candidate’s testing window for the applicant or candidate to receive a refund, less the administrative fee. 

Renewal Applications 

Candidates may withdraw their application to renew certification. The ANCC must receive a written request before the certification renewal is issued for the candidate to receive a refund, less the administrative fee. If a candidate is taking the examination for renewal, the written withdrawal request must be received before the candidate has taken the examination and before the end of the candidate’s testing window.

To request a withdrawal of your certification application, contact us at customerservice@ana.org. All withdrawal requests must be made in writing.
