A Statement from the American Nurses Association

SILVER SPRING, MD - The American Nurses Association (ANA) is aware of the legal actions taken this week challenging the Department of Education's rule excluding nursing and other health professions from the professional degree category for federal student loans.

In the next week, ANA will file a joint suit together with additional nursing organizations in a separate venue to make a nurse-specific case before the courts and maximize opportunities for the broadest relief possible for nurses.

ANA and its partners will continue this fight both in the courts and in the halls of Congress until nurses have full access to the resources needed to sustain the pipeline of graduate nurses, advanced practice nurses, and faculty that our healthcare system depends upon.
