COVID-19 Fallen Nurses
The International Council of Nurses, World Health Organization, Nursing Now, and American Nurses Association jointly recognize Monday, May 11th as Remember Health Heroes Day. On this day we ask one and all to take part in a moment of reflection to honor the memory of nurses and health workers who have tragically died during the COVID-19 pandemic. We ask you to join us in flooding social media with hashtag #RememberHealthHeroes by sharing a photo or video of a lit candle (or using your mobile phone light) to show your respect for the health workers lost to this pandemic.
To be a nurse is noble calling by virtue as it’s not a self-serving profession. To be a nurse who pays the ultimate sacrifice to fulfill their duty however is worthy of the highest honor and regard.
Today ANA remembers and pays tribute to each nurse who gave everything including their lives while battling COVID-19.
Fallen nurses displayed on this scroll were collected from reports in various media outlets, and other tracking sources.
