Maintaining your Magnet® status
In order maintain access to the benefits of Magnet® designation, every health care organization that has been awarded the status must reapply every four years.
The deadline for when an application for redesignation must be received depends upon when the prior Magnet designation was granted. The specific deadlines are outlined below (with the documentation required to reach us by the first business day of the relevant month):
|IF YOUR CURRENT DESIGNATION BEGAN THIS MONTH...||SUBMIT YOUR DOCUMENTS 4 YEARS LATER IN THIS MONTH|
Your Magnet designation won’t expire while the re-appraisal process is being carried out, as long as all of the documentation has reached us by the required date.
