Event Details

This full day workshop focuses on developing knowledge and skills to become an ANCC accredited provider of nursing continuing professional development. Building on a foundation of the value of accreditation, participants will learn processes for developing and submitting the application and self-study. Structural capacity, educational design, and quality outcome criteria will be explored in detail, and learners will develop and document a prototype educational activity. Ample opportunity will be provided to network, ask questions, and build both competence and confidence in the application process.

The ANCC Accreditation Program identifies organizations worldwide that demonstrate excellence in nursing continuing professional development (NCPD). Accredited organizations use evidence-based ANCC criteria to plan, implement and evaluate the highest quality NCPD activities.

Providers are organizations in any country that develop NCPD activities using ANCC criteria.
Approvers are organizations in the US that approve NCPD providers for compliance with ANCC criteria.

Currently-accredited organizations may also participate.

Event Details

This full day workshop provides an opportunity for ANCC accredited providers to build knowledge and skills in operation of their accredited provider units. Myths and realities of nursing continuing professional development will be discussed, and the outcome-based continuing education model will be explored in depth. Participants will engage in small-group dialogue about best practices, sharing with and learning from colleagues around the country and the world. The Nursing Activity Reporting System (NARS) will be reviewed. Accreditation with distinction criteria will be explored as an option for accredited provider units. All accredited providers are encouraged to attend and share!

Event Details
The ANCC Accreditation Program will be holding an Accredited Approver Workshop for organizations currently accredited as approvers (C/SNA, FNS, SNO, or OA). The approver workshop will focus on the professional development Nurse Peer Review Leaders/Nurse Peer Reviewer. Content will focus on roles and responsibilities of the Nurse Peer Review Leader, breakdown of the 2015 ANCC Accreditation criteria to include processes for ensuring adherence and compliance with reviewing applications.

This workshop is for Nurse Peer Review Leaders/Nurse Peer Reviewers/Approver Unit Professional Development Associates/Approver Unit CE Specialists ONLY.
