Accreditation Documentation Review
A documentation review provides an assessment of an organization's current compliance with recordkeeping criteria and readiness to apply. Documentation reviews may be used as part of the Self-Study submitted with an application. A documentation review is optional and does not guarantee awarding of accreditation.
During a documentation review, ANCC staff audits file records of a nursing continuing professional development or education activity (Accredited Provider) or approval application (Accredited Approver) to confirm adherence to ANCC recordkeeping criteria. The resulting written report indicates compliance or non-compliance for each recordkeeping criterion. Specifics on how to correct deficiencies are not included. Applicants may refer to accreditation manuals for guidance.
