Nursing Skills Competency Program Application
Nursing skills competency course recognition is typically granted for 3 years with an option to renew. First time and renewing applicants must:
- Complete an application describing its nursing skills competency course, including curriculum, teaching strategies, instructor qualifications, learning environment, and successful completion criteria.
- Submit a $5500 fee per course.
- Meet all ANCC Commission on Accreditation criteria.
- Answer questions from the review panel, if any, within 30 days.
- Site visits are not required.
- For applicants outside the US: To validate international credentials, applicants must present verification from CGFNS International (http://www.cgfns.org/). ANCC will not accept verification documents from other credential evaluating organizations.
A review panel comprised of content experts and curriculum design specialists examines applications. The Commission on Accreditation makes the final decision.

- Download Course Recognition Application [doc]

- Consolidate all materials into 1 complete bookmarked PDF file. Materials are accepted in electronic format only. Electronic documents must be compatible with Microsoft Office applications and must be clearly labeled.
- Mail flash drive with complete application package to:

Re-Application Instructions
- Submit the Intent to Apply Form (same as step 1 above) 6 months prior to the recognized course's expiration date.
- An invoice for the application fee will be provided.
- Submit the Course Recognition Application (same as step 3 above) 3 months prior to the recognized course's expiration date.
- Clearly label all attachments and reference the appropriate labels in the application document.
- Consolidate all materials into 1 complete bookmarked PDF file. Materials are accepted in electronic format only. Electronic documents must be compatible with Microsoft Office applications and must be clearly labeled.
