ANA Hails Expanded Eligibility of Pfizer/BioNTech and Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine Boosters for all Adults
SILVER SPRING, MD— The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) took action so that all adults are now eligible for Pfizer/BioNTech and Moderna COVID-19 vaccine boosters, expanding access to millions of individuals. The following statement is attributable to American Nurses Association President Ernest J. Grant, PhD, RN, FAAN:
“The American Nurses Association continues to hail the unwavering diligence of public health officials to make COVID-19 booster shots widely available so that all individuals can have increased and durable protection against the virus. The indisputable evidence proves that COVID-19 vaccines prevent severe symptoms, hospitalization and even death for both adults and children. As we eagerly look forward to holiday gatherings, the sure path to keeping you and your loved ones safe and healthy is to get vaccinated against COVID-19. And if you’re eligible, take advantage of the opportunity to get a booster.”
