ANCC 2020 Call for Commission Members

On behalf of the ANCC Board of Directors, the Nominations Committee issues this call for qualified nominees for appointment to seats on the  Commission on Accreditation in Nursing Continuing Professional Development (COA-NCPD), Commission on Accreditation in Practice Transition Programs (COA-PTP), Commission on Magnet® (COM), and Commission on Pathway to Excellence® (COPE), which serve as the governing bodies for their respective ANCC programs.

The annual call is open until 11:59pm, Tuesday, June 9, 2020. You may submit a nomination for more than one commission; however, appointees may only serve on one commission at a time.

Commission on Accreditation in Nursing Continuing Professional Development (COA-NCPD)

  • One (1) seat open for an ANA Member (C/SNA-ANA or IMD) who is an APRN and a content expert in nursing continuing professional development and joint accreditation from an accredited organization.
    • Term of Service: January 1, 2021 – December 31, 2024
  • Two (2) seats open for ANA Members (C/SNA-ANA or IMD) who are Emerging Leaders
    • An Emerging Leader on the COA-NCPD is a registered nurse who has two years or less of experience in nursing continuing professional development from an accredited organization.
    • Term of Service: January 1, 2021 – December 31, 2022; not eligible for re-appointment to the Emerging Leader seat

Commission on Accreditation in Practice Transition Programs (COA-PTP)

  • One (1) seat open for an individual of foreign residence or with international experience, does not have to be an ANA Member
    • Term of Service: January 1, 2021 – December 31, 2024
  •  One (1) seat open for an ANA Member (C/SNA-ANA or IMD) who is an APRN Program Director from an accredited program
    • Term of Service: January 1, 2021 – December 31, 2023
  • One (1) seat open for an ANA Member (C/SNA-ANA or IMD) who is a Non-Acute Care Program Director from an accredited program
    • Term of Service: January 1, 2021 – December 31, 2023
  • One (1) seat open for an ANA Member (C/SNA-ANA or IMD) who is a RN Fellowship Program Director from an accredited program
    • Term of Service: January 1, 2021 – December 31, 2024
  • One (1) seat open for an individual who is a Physician Assistant Fellowship Program Director, does not have to be an ANA Member
    • Term of Service: January 1, 2021 – December 31, 2024
  • One (1) seat open for an ANA Member (C/SNA-ANA or IMD) who is an Emerging Leader from a RN Residency, preferred from a military setting
    • An Emerging Leader on the COA-PTP is a nurse who has graduated from an accredited PTAP program within the last two years
    • Term of Service: January 1, 2021 – December 31, 2022; not eligible for re-appointment to the Emerging Leader seat
  • One (1) seat open for an ANA Member (C/SNA-ANA or IMD) who is an Emerging Leader from an APRN Fellowship accredited program
    • An Emerging Leader on the COA-PTP is a nurse who has graduated from an accredited PTAP program within the last two years
    • Term of Service: January 1, 2021 – December 31, 2022; not eligible for re-appointment to the Emerging Leader seat

Commission on Magnet® (COM)

  • One (1) seat open for an ANA Member (C/SNA-ANA or IMD) who is a member of the American Organization for Nursing Leadership (AONL)
    • Term of Service: January 1, 2021 – December 31, 2024
  • One (1) seat open for an ANA Member (C/SNA-ANA or IMD) who is a registered nurse currently serving in a clinical nurse position and involved in patient care committee work
    • Term of Service: January 1, 2021 – December 31, 2024

Commission on Pathway to Excellence® (COPE)

  • One (1) seat open for an ANA Member (C/SNA-ANA or IMD) who is working in Academe/Education
    • Term of Service: January 1, 2021 – December 31, 2024
  •  One (1) seat open for an Individual of foreign residence or with international experience, does not have to be an ANA Member
    • Term of Service: January 1, 2021 – December 31, 2024

Application Process – To be considered, all nominees must review/submit the following:

Nominees may submit electronically up to two (2) letters of endorsement with the required nomination materials.  All nomination materials must be submitted by 11:59pm ET on Tuesday, June 9, 2020.
