SILVER SPRING, MD – The ANA Enterprise today announced that leading health and well-being company Humana Inc. (NYSE: HUM) has joined the Healthy Nurse, Healthy Nation™ (HNHN) Grand Challenge as a sponsor committed to ANA Enterprise’s efforts to prioritize the health of America’s four million nurses.

HNHN is an initiative of the ANA Enterprise, which is comprised of the American Nurses Association, the American Nurses Credentialing Center, and the American Nurses Foundation.  The initiative engages more than 500 partner organizations and more than 100,000 participants to take action in five key areas - physical activity, rest, nutrition, quality of life, and safety - to transform the health of the nation by improving the health of nurses.

“We applaud Humana’s commitment to America’s four million nurses,” said ANA Enterprise Chief Executive Officer Loressa Cole, DNP, MBA, RN, NEA-BC, FACHE. “Its support of the Healthy Nurse, Healthy Nation Grand Challenge will help make a difference in the lives of nurses across the country, just as nurses make a difference in the lives of those they serve.”

The Healthy Nurse, Healthy Nation™ Grand Challenge is an initiative to empower nurses throughout America, and aligns with Humana’s longstanding commitment to improving the health and well-being of both its employees and the communities it serves.

“A strong community of thousands of nurses plays a vital role in shaping and delivering Humana’s clinical programs and services, with nurses serving in diverse roles throughout the company,” said Kathy Driscoll, RN, CCM, Humana’s Chief Nursing Officer. “We’re delighted to deepen our relationship with the ANA and to support nurses across the country who bring perseverance, passion, compassion and expertise to empowering Americans to lead healthier lives.”
