ANCC Appoints New Official to the Commission on Pathway to Excellence: Francine Douce Named International Commissioner

SILVER SPRING, MD — The American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) recently announced the appointment of Francine Douce, RN, RM, BN, FACM, as the new International Commissioner of Commission on Pathway to Excellence (COPE). Commission members are selected by the ANCC Board of Directors and represent various sectors of the nursing community.

Douce will be filling the international seat for COPE. As a voluntary governing body, COPE oversees the Pathway to Excellence® Program and makes the final determination of Pathway designations.

With more than 30 years of experience, Douce has worked in both public and private sector and currently holds the title of Acting Chief Nurse and Midwife for the Department of Health and Human Services Office in Tasmania, Australia. Her expansive background includes experience working in education and training; quality and safety; patient flow and bed management; infection prevention and control; operational management; and strategic planning.
