Silver Spring, MD – Below is the statement from Pamela F. Cipriano, PhD, RN, NEA-BC, FAAN, president of the American Nurses Association (ANA) on Trump’s latest announcement to end critical Cost-Sharing Reduction (CSR) payment subsidies:
"The Administration’s late-night announcement was the second assault in a single day that will gut the health care system established under the ACA and once again ignores the expertise of health care experts like nurses. By cutting these subsidies, the President puts health care out of reach for millions of Americans who can’t afford the costs of insurance and the critical health care services that they need. Yesterday’s actions run counter to the Administration’s stated commitments—and ANA’s principles. Nurses will continue speaking out on behalf of the nation’s most vulnerable and against the misguided approach this order represents."
