American Nurses Foundation Welcomes VMS BioMarketing to Corporate Advisory Board

SILVER SPRING, MD —The American Nurses Foundation (the Foundation), the charitable and philanthropic arm of the American Nurses Association (ANA), today announced VMS BioMarketing (VMS), as the newest member of the Foundation’s Corporate Advisory Board. VMS, a leading provider of patient support solutions for biopharma companies, helps nurse educators provide personalized support to patients to help them start and stay on their treatment therapies.

“Nurse educators are critical to the Foundation’s goal of transforming the nation’s health through the power of nursing” said Marla J. Weston, PhD, RN, FAAN, chief executive officer of both the Foundation and ANA. “VMS not only builds and manages educator networks with practicing nurses, but it is also committed to raising awareness about nurses’ roles in providing high quality support to patients facing chronic diseases. All of these qualities make the company an ideal fit for the Corporate Advisory Board.”

“VMS BioMarketing is delighted to develop a strategic partnership with the American Nurses Foundation Corporate Advisory Board,” said Andrea Heslin Smiley, president and chief executive officer of VMS. “Identifying and understanding the relevant trends of tomorrow is foundational to the success of our business as we increasingly build new product offerings and opportunities for nurses, such as nurse navigation services, online health coaching and clinical trial support.”

The Corporate Advisory Board furthers the Foundation's mission to transform the health of the nation through the power of nursing. The partnership is designed to foster closer collaboration and dialogue with the leadership of ANA, the American Nurses Credentialing Center and the Foundation on critical health care issues.

Board members will have a unique opportunity to discuss developments in nursing and share their perspectives on key issues. Additionally, the board will help identify trends, initiate policy discussion and lay the foundation for future collaboration that will benefit patients, nurses and the nation’s health care system.
