Professional Nurse

Joan Ellis Beglinger has been a professional nurse since 1975. Her clinical practice included 10 years in critical care, five of those as a Clinical Nurse Specialist. Joan has been a health care executive in acute care for 28 years, most recently in the position of Vice President for Patient Care/Chief Nursing Officer at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin, for 22 years. She is currently practicing independently, assisting colleagues in the development of professional practice environments that will position nurses for leadership in the changing health care environment.
