Overview
Between clinical practice, care coordination, and study management, research is now vital to nurses’ career success. However, most clinical nurses are not properly prepared to undertake the massive responsibility of research. This course will provide you with research best practices, pertinent tools, and self-paced assignments so that you can begin your journey into nursing research.
Key Learning Outcomes
At the conclusion of the course, participants will be able to develop a plan for a research study and:
- Participants will develop a research question and complete a literature review
- Participants will design a study
- Participants will synthesize knowledge of approval processes to conduct research
- Participants will write an abstract and create a poster for dissemination of research at conferences

Rebecca Culver Clark, PhD, RN Nurse Researcher
Dr. Rebecca Clark has over 30 years of experience teaching and conducting nursing research. For the past 10 years, she has led the nursing research department for a large Magnet designated health system, securing grant funding for clinical research projects, and teaching staff how to conduct clinical research projects and how to present and publish their work. Currently Dr. Clark consults with hospitals, working with nursing staff to conceptualize, develop and conduct research, evidence-based and quality improvement projects.
