You will gain insights and tools for how to cope with various aspects of the pandemic. This series includes:

  • Ventilator Management: Essential Skills for Non-ICU Nurses – Watch this presentation to identify key skills needed when caring for a patient on a ventilator. This includes reading basic ventilator settings, assessing patients on ventilators, coping with alarms, and assisting with intubation. Presented by ANA in partnership with the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN).
  • How to Respond to Ethical Challenges and Moral Distress during the COVID-19 Pandemic –Two nurse ethicists from the front lines share how they are helping nurses navigate the moral dilemmas presenting with COVID-19 cases. Sponsored by the ANA Center for Ethics and Human Rights.
  • Non-Acute Care Settings: Hard-Earned Lessons from Two APRNs on the Frontlines - As new cases of COVID-19 continue to emerge across the country, nurses working in all settings will be challenged to recognize and manage these patients quickly and effectively. This webinar brings new perspectives from outside the acute care setting that will be valuable for not only ambulatory care nurses but also for nurses in all facilities caring for COVID-19 patients.
  • How to Survive the Pandemic with An Unbroken Spirit Actions to Take Right Now to Stay Strong and Focused - Discover how to successfully manage your mental health needs while caring for COVID-19 patients. Nurses are tough but COVID-19 is challenging their toughness in new and unique ways. Three experts share insights, tips, and tools to stay strong, maintain resiliency, and mental health.
  • Caring for COVID-19 Patients: Disease Progression and Nursing Interventions You Need to Know - It has been months since the first COVID-19 case was diagnosed in the U.S. and we continue to see increases in illnesses, hospitalizations, and deaths. While there is still much to learn, we now better understand the progression of this disease and nursing care that promotes optimal patient outcomes. By viewing this program, you will learn the most up-to-date information and nursing care strategies.
  • How You Can Have a Direct Impact on Reducing the Devastating Racial Disparities of COVID-19 - Racial Health Disparities are not new to the U.S. health care system. But now more than ever, you can have a direct and lifesaving impact on the recognition, care and treatment, and recovery from COVID-19 in these vulnerable populations.
Program content provides clarity on the stark challenges faced by Black and Native American people during the pandemic. After viewing this on-demand webinar, you will have very specific actions you can take immediately to save more lives.
  • Boosting Vaccine Confidence in Minority Populations - While enthusiasm to receive the COVID-19 vaccine is high among many, a significant number of people are reluctant to take the important step of getting the “shot in the arm.” Many factors have an impact on this reluctance, not the least of which include racial, cultural, and ethnic background and past experiences. This webinar explores the current data on COVID-19 vaccination rates among communities of color and illuminates the sources of vaccination reluctance in minority populations. Most importantly, the content identifies key elements of the conversation needed to address vaccine reluctance and boost confidence.
  • The State of COVID Vaccine Development: What You Need to Know Now - Health care professionals will be early recipients of any approved vaccines.  Now is the time to begin to learn what you need to know about these vaccines – information that is critical to your well-being and to the well-being of your patients.
  • How to Protect Yourself: Safe Use and Re-use of PPE - ANA has partnered with the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC) to bring you this up-to-date program that will cover occupational health risks related to COVID-19, COVID-19 modes of transmission as it is currently understood, Isolation precautions and PPE selection and use for COVID-19, crisis standards of care related to PPE use during COVID-19, and safe re-use of PPE, including respirators and isolation gowns
  • Effective Tools for Practicing Self-Compassion and Self Care in the Time of COVID-19 - Through data, practices, and initiatives, nurses will discover the importance of self-compassion, the myriad nurse-specific mental health resources available, and how to minister to oneself through mindfulness. The webinar will also highlight the importance of nurse leaders encouraging and ensuring that their staff have access to mental health help prior to, during, and after crises.
  • Managing Patients with Long-Term Effects of COVID-19 Nursing Priorities and Interventions – Most people who have had COVID-19 recover completely within a few weeks. Too many people continue to experience symptoms and negative impact after their initial recovery. Called “long haulers” these people have a variety of symptoms. As the number of people with acute COVID-19 declines, attention will shift to the care of those experiencing these symptoms. This webinar will provide valuable and practical information on nursing care to help these patients recover.

ANA may make additional webinars shall be made available through this product as COVID-19 response and recovery continue.
