Terri Roberts

TERRI ROBERTS J.D., R.N.
Executive Director

Terri Roberts is the Executive Director of the Kansas State Nurses Association, the professional organization for registered nurses in Kansas. She has served in this position since 1985 and represents KSNA and professional nurses before the Legislature, State Agencies and in interactions with other healthcare organizations and at national professional nursing meetings. She is responsible for the day to day activities of the association and the implementation of programs and standards developed by the professional organization. She is the Editor In-Chief of The Kansas Nurse, a refereed Journal, and is the Editor of a Legislative Newsletter that is published weekly during the Kansas Legislative session each year.

Terri is a 1978 graduate of Washburn University School of Nursing and a 1982 graduate of Washburn University School of Law. She was recognized in 1991 by Washburn University as an Outstanding Alumni representing the School of Nursing, and is a member of Sigma Theta Tau, International. Terri has served on numerous Committees and Task Forces in the state, currently serving as the Treasurer of the Tobacco Free Kansas Coalition. She is currently serving on the Board of Directors for the Kansas Nurses Foundation, as Chair of the Kansas Coalition for Workplace Safety, and is on the Tobacco Free Nurses National Steering Committee. She is the immediate Past President of the Kansas Society of Association Executives, and was appointed in 2005 by the Secretary of the Kansas Department of Human Resources to the Kansas Workers Compensation Advisory Committee.

Prior to accepting the position of Executive Director, Terri was the DRG Coordinator at Lawrence Memorial Hospital and worked on Capital Hill for the Special Committee on Aging. Prior to that she worked as a cardiothoracic staff nurse at Stormont-Vail Hospital and George Washington University Hospital in Washington, D.C. Since graduating from law school she has conducted numerous lectures on legal aspects of nursing as well as contemporary nursing issues.
