Author Guidelines for Submitting a Manuscript
If you would like to submit a manuscript for possible publication in The Kansas Nurse, an award-winning, blind reviewed journal, here is what you should know.
Criteria for articles in The Kansas Nurse
- Timely topic, organized logically and concisely.
- Relevant to nurses in Kansas and a broad circulation ( e.g. clinicians, educators, administrators and private practice).
- Hard Copy — Six pages typed and double spaced with one inch margins (top, bottom, left and right). The number of pages will include graphs, photographs and bibliography. No bold face or italicized words, preferably 10 point type. Send three copies of manuscript with 3 ½" disk in WordPerfect 7 or lower, Microsoft Word 97, txt format or as an email attachment.
- APA style for the body of the manuscript including reference format (5th edition).
- Cover memo should include home address, home phone number, work phone number and fax number.

The deadline for submitting the manuscript is the 15th day of the month, 90 days prior to the targeted month.
