National Center for Nursing Quality
For over 100 years, ANA has worked to improve patient safety by promoting quality in nursing care and nurses' work lives. The National Center for Nursing Quality® (NCNQ®), established in 1998, advocates for nursing quality through quality measurement, research, and collaborative learning. The Center tackles issues such as the relationship between nurse staffing and outcomes of patient care. The Center’s innovative initiatives include the National Database for Nursing Quality Indicators® (NDNQI®).
NDNQI Award for Outstanding Nursing Quality™
The NDNQI Award for Outstanding Nursing Quality™ recognizes excellence in overall performance on nursing quality indicators. The hospitals receiving the 2012 Award were identified from among more than 1,900 hospitals that report results to the NDNQI database. Learn about the NDNQI Award and past winners.
