Karen Iseminger


Karen A. Iseminger, Ph.D., FNP is the Director of Ethics Integration for St.Vincent Health. As director, Karen is responsible for coordinating ethics resources and functions including providing consultative services to St.Vincent Health clinicians, patients, families and leadership.

Karen earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Ball State University in 1976 and her Masters of Science in Nursing at Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis in 1987. She went on to complete her Doctorate of Philosophy from State University of New York at Buffalo, New York, in 1997 and her post-doctorate in Pediatric Management & Residency in 1998 at Northern Kentucky University.  Additionally, she has a post-doctoral certification as a Philosophical Counselor.

She is also a Nurse Practitioner for twenty years, most recently she has provided psychiatric support of oncology patients as the Assistant Director of Quality of Life for Community Cancer Care.  Previous academic appointments include Professor of Nursing at Anderson University and Associate Professor of Nursing at the University of Indianapolis.
