Environmental pollution is the contamination of air, water, or food resulting in deleterious effects of such a nature as to endanger human health, harm living resources and ecosystems. Major forms of pollution include: air pollution, water pollution, soil contamination, radioactive contamination, noise pollution, and thermal pollution.

This section of the ANA’s Web site discusses ambient environmental pollution sources and problems external to the Health Care Sector contamination contributions which affect the community at large.
