Mary Behrens and Lori Lioce
Past ANA-PAC chairs Mary Behrens, RN, MS, FNP-BC, of the Wyoming Nurses Association and Lori Lioce, DNP, FNP-BC, NP-C, of the Alabama State Nurses Association have been selected to become Fellows of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (FAANP). AANP Fellows are selected based on outstanding contributions to clinical practice, research, education, or policy. Behrens, Lioce, and additional FAANP members will be formally inducted as fellows during the June AANP National Conference.
Tricia Hunter, RN, MN, executive administrator of ANA\California (ANA\C) will receive the UCLA School of Nursing 2013 Distinguished Alumnus award on May 9. Hunter, a 1983 graduate, will be recognized for her efforts to advance the nursing profession, including protecting nurse education and training requirements in the workforce. In addition to her ANA\C responsibilities, Hunter also serves as a health care consultant and legislative advocate. Hunter and her fellow honorees will be formally recognized during the UCLA School of Nursing’s annual Nurse 21 Gala in Beverly Hills. For more information, click here.
Sylvia Weber, MS, RN, CNS, of the Rhode Island State Nurses Association (RISNA) will receive the Environmental Champion Award from the Hospitals for a Healthy Environment in Rhode Island coalition for her work in environmental health and her efforts to promote sustainability in health care. Additionally, Weber will also be inducted into RISNA’s Hall of Fame for her outstanding contributions to the nursing profession.
