Bahraini judicial officials nullified prison terms that had been handed down last week to 20 health care professionals, including nurses, who had provided care to wounded political protesters last spring. The American Nurses Association had joined an international outcry by health care and human rights activists who swiftly denounced the unjust sentences. (See

were ordered to be released from custody. However, new trials have been set for
a civilian court.
