A new legislative column is posted in OJIN: The Online Journal of Issues in Nursing!
Population-Based Health Datasets - Part 1: An Overview Advocating Evidence-Based Health Policy and Population-Based Health Datasets – Part 2: Conducting a Study Through the Use of an Interactive Search Feature, by Mary Beth Zeni, ScD, MSN, RN, is the recently posted Legislative column. This column is in two parts. Part 1 discusses benefits and limitations of population-based health databases as a possible reference source for developing interventions and health policy. Part 2 provides an example of how one database, the National Survey of Children’s Health, was used to determine prevalence rates of children with a medical home and explore associations between race/ethnicity and medical homes.
