The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has a new program, the Health Care Innovation Challenge
, that will provide fund “innovative projects across the country that test creative ways to deliver high-quality health care services and lower costs” to people enrolled in Medicare, Medicaid, and the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP). Priority will be given to projects that can rapidly deploy new types of health care workers as well as those that can begin work within six months of receiving the funding and demonstrate a model for sustainability. Providers, payers, local governments, public-private partnerships, and multi-payer collaboratives are all encouraged to apply. Go to www.innovation.cms.gov
