OJIN: The Online Journal of Issues in Nursing, the peer-reviewed, online publication of the American Nurses Association, has published two additional articles on previously published OJIN topics.

What Atracts Second Degree Students To A Career In Nursing? by Deborah A. Raines, PhD, RN, ANEF, describes an analysis of stories of students admitted to an accelerated, second degree program. The stories described factors that influenced their decision to pursue the study of nursing as a second career.

Gloria Lopez-McKee, PhD, RN, in her article, Development of the Mammography Beliefs and Attitudes Questionnaire for Low-Health-Literacy Mexican-American Women explains how low-income, low-health-literacy Mexican-American women exhibit poor mammography screening participation and are being diagnosed at later stages of breast cancer than are non-Hispanic white women.

The journal editors invite you to share your response to previously posted OJIN topics by sending a Letter to the Editor or by submitting a manuscript that will further the discussion of these topics.
