ANA CEO Receives 2009 "Deliver" Award

The American Nurses Association (ANA) is proud to announce that Chief Executive Officer Marla J. Weston PhD, RN was named the 2009 recipient of the prestigious “Deliver Award” by Arizona State University’s (ASU) College of Nursing & Healthcare Innovation. Weston was presented with this special award at the annual “Dream.Discover.Deliver” awards luncheon held in Phoenix last week.

Every year ASU’s College of Nursing & Healthcare Innovation selects three individuals who embody ASU’s vision to deliver excellence in evidence based healthcare. In addition to Weston, Richard Carmona MD, MPH, FACS and 17th United States Surgeon General and Michelle King Robson, Founder and Chairman of received awards, as well.

“Throughout her career, Marla has been a tireless advocate for nursing and her exceptional work and contributions have made significant, lasting impacts in advancing and promoting the nursing profession,” said ANA President Rebecca M. Patton, MSN, RN, CNOR. “She is most deserving of this recognition, and this award is a tribute to her accomplishments, her leadership and her commitment to excellence in nursing practice.”
