The American Nurses Association’s (ANA) National Center for Nursing Quality (NCNQ
®) houses the nation’s only nursing quality measurement program. The National Database for Nursing Quality Indicators (NDNQI
®) collects data for each nursing unit so nurses can see how they are performing on measures such as patient falls and hospital-acquired pressure ulcers, as well as gauge the level of nurse satisfaction. These measures then become a basis for improvement plans among the 1,400 participating hospitals.
See the ANA video, “Nurses’ Impact at the Bedside: Can You Measure Your Performance?” for more information.
