In May, 10 innovative hospitals graduated from the Transforming Care at the Bedside®
(TCAB) program, a national partnership between the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) and the Institute for Healthcare Improvement.
These hospitals will remain as leaders and mentors as new hospitals around the country make plans to implement TCAB, a unique model that engages leaders at all levels of the organization to improve the quality and safety of patient care on medical and surgical units and increase the vitality and retention of nurses and frontline staff.
On June 5, RWJF launched a Transforming Care at the Bedside® (TCAB) Virtual Resource Center. This invaluable resource offers nurses, hospital leaders and physicians the necessary tools to fully implement TCAB at their facility. The center, along with the active engagement of the original "TCAB 10" pilot hospitals, is part of RWJF's strategy to disseminate TCAB to all interested hospitals.
