September Focus on Health: Your Eyesight: Focusing on Macular Degeneration
According to the National Eye Institute, Macular Degeneration is the leading cause of blindness in people over the age of 60’s. Macular Degeneration is a progressive disease that attacks the macula of the eye, the small, highly sensitive central area of the retina, destroying the center of the eyesight, where the sharpest vision occurs. Driving and reading become difficult and, in some cases, will progress to complete blindness.
