Designer of the Black Band Professional Nurses Ring Partners With the American Nurses Foundation (ANF) to Raise Funds For Nurses

Calling All Registered Nurses Across The United States

Silver Spring, MD - In celebration of its 50th Anniversary and Nurses Week 2005, the American Nurses Foundation (ANF) and Black Band Jewellry Designs are pleased to announce a partnership to raise funds for ANF's programs of research and education that promote the public health and advance the nursing profession. A portion of proceeds from Black Band Professional Nurses rings purchased by nurses in the United States will serve the nursing profession by supporting ANF's programs of research and education that promote the public health and advance the nursing profession.

Nurse and ring designer, Margaret Armitage, RN, of Nova Scotia, introduced this elegant ring to nursing organizations across Canada to much success. The simple black band design is based on the symbol of the nursing profession, representing the compassion, commitment, and competence integral with the nursing profession. Available in white or yellow gold, the 10K gold ring has an individual serial number and will be engraved with the nurse's licensure number inside the band.

Armitage will donate 10% of proceeds from orders placed by U.S. nurses from today through December 31, 2005 to ANF. Armitage states, "I hope this black band symbol traditionally displayed on the nursing cap will serve as a recognizable symbol of the nursing profession to our clients, co-workers, and the public at large. The ring is a historic symbol to proudly wear celebrating our profession's heritage and moving it into the future." The ring is practically designed to be: safe in any working environment, gender neutral, comfortable and worn in any professional setting.
