RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide leadership and management for the overall direction, planning, coordination, and evaluation of new non-dues revenue programs and other revenue/for profit projects as assigned for the American Nurses Association (ANA) and related entities. Programs are generally focused on areas other than those specifically targeting association members and nursing professionals. The Director will be responsible for working with other departments to identify revenue opportunities that may exist within association programs and services. The Director will research and develop strategies for non-dues revenue generation opportunities. Reports to the Chief Operating Officer; under general direction carries out the function and tasks of the position. The Director will work collaboratively with other ANA departments, particularly Marketing, Membership, and Communications.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Master’s degree in business administration or related area or equivalent experience and training. A minimum of ten (10) years experience and at least five (5) years experience in a management role in progressive, complex organizations with a strong preference for profit and loss experience. Must demonstrate a successful track record in the development and implementation of marketing strategies, new business development and business ventures which demonstrate an entrepreneurial orientation.
Excellent business acumen; strong negotiations skills; demonstrated success in development, launch and implementation of business plans; Strong financial background to support development of business plans; Sound judgment; strong communication and presentation skills; ability to work in teams and independently; results driven; ability to work with standard office computer desk top software, ability to make decisions and take calculated risks. Strong financial and budgeting skills, good skill with office software, attention to detail, and flexibility are necessary.
