ANA Treasurer Gingy Harshey-Meade, MSN, RN, CAE, NEA-BC, currently serves as chief executive officer (CEO) of the Indiana State Nurses Association (ISNA). She also holds positions as CEO emeritus of the Ohio Nurses Association (ONA) and the Ohio Nurses Foundation (ONF). Until September 2014, Harshey-Meade was CEO of ONA, a position she held since 2000. Additionally, she was the founding president and CEO of ONF, which has consistently bestowed more than $10,000 in nursing scholarships and research grants annually since 2002. Under her leadership, ONA and ISNA memberships have grown and the associations have flourished. Prior to joining ONA, Harshey-Meade was the assistant hospital administrator for patient care services at Morton County Health System in Elkhart, Kansas.
Harshey-Meade earned an AAS degree from County College of Morris as well as BSN and MSN degrees from Seton Hall University. She obtained a post-graduate certificate in public administration from Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, and is a Certified Association Executive (CAE) and Nurse Executive Advanced-Board Certified (NEA-BC).
