ANA keeps me abreast on issues and trends in nursing practice and education, including, but not limited to the political climate on Capitol Hill and in our own states. I joined ANA when I was in nursing school because at that time, you were not considered a professional nurse if you didn’t belong to your professional organization. Being a member has helped me care for my patients by monitoring the profession through its publications and attending meetings both locally and nationally to learn more.
