The American Nurses Association (ANA) has made a major difference in my career, as a Speaker, Trainer and Health Coach. I joined ANA right after I graduated from nursing school; I understood that one must be a member of their professional association in order to enrich their craft. When I became aware of the importance of being politically involved to protect our professional practice, I became an advocate for all nurses to become members of ANA. Now, that the current health system is in crisis, it is very important for nurses to use the collective power of our numbers to influence legislation. We can do that through ANA.
