The Association of periOperative Registered Nurses(AORN’s) Position Statement,
One Perioperative Registered Nurse Circulator Dedicated to Every Patient Undergoing a Surgical or Other Invasive Procedure, maintains that AORN is committed to the provision of safe perioperative nursing care by ensuring that every patient undergoing a surgical or other invasive procedure is at a minimum cared for by a registered nurse in the circulating role, regardless of the setting.
