Nurses everywhere rank staffing as their biggest problem, and research proves it is dangerous for patients. Insufficient nurse staffing is linked with poorer patient outcomes, lengthened hospital stays, and more. ANA is working to alleviate this problem nationwide, and our staffing plan was recently introduced in Congress as the Registered Nurse Safe Staffing Act of 2010.
